1. Westport Road traffic considerations
Louisville Metro has been studying Westport Road to identify measures that might help address safety and mobility needs, particularly from Hubbards Lane to Chamberlain Lane. An open house will be held Tuesday, November 19, 6 - 8 PM, at the Westport Middle School gym (8100 Westport Road) to share recommendations and get feedback from residents.
Existing conditions along this corridor will be discussed, and several potential short-term improvements will be explained. To share your thoughts on the current recommendations prior to the meeting, take a quick survey here. Louisville Metro plans to produce a report by year-end that will summarize the study process, the improvements being considered, community input, and recommendations.
2. Goose Creek Rd./KY 22 intersection
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning to improve traffic at the intersection of Brownsboro Road (KY 22) and Goose Creed Road, including adding a right turn lane on Goose Creek leading to eastbound KY 22 and 1,500 ft. of roadway improvements on KY 22 itself. Those improvements include making KY 22 three lanes from (roughly) Old Brownsboro Hills Road to Meridian Gardens Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin as early as spring of next year.
